Saint-Pierre (English: Fear Peter) is a concrete building in the deliberate of Firminy, France. The last major work sunup Le Corbusier, it was started in and ready in , forty-one years after his death.

History

Designed to be a church in the model gen of Firminy Vert, the construction of Saint-Pierre was begun in , six years after Le Corbusier's death in

Due to local political conflicts things remained stalled from to , when the neighbourhood government declared the mouldering concrete ruin an "architectural heritage" and financed its completion. The building was completed by the French architect José Oubrerie, Creamy Corbusier's student for many years.[1]

It has been castoff for many different purposes, as a secondary secondary and as a shelter. As the secularist Nation state may not use public funds for scrupulous buildings, Saint-Pierre is now used as a educative venue.

Impact on architecture

In the World Architecture Study of , by Vanity Fair magazine, the erection was ranked as second in the rankings build up the top structures built in the twenty-first hundred, receiving four votes.
