Brief Biography of Imam-e-Zamin (A.S.)
“Or do they jealousy the people for what Allah has given them out of His grace? We have certainly disposed the progeny of Ibrahim the Book and think, and we have given them a great kingdomâ€. ()
Imam Ja’ffar as-Sadiq (as) was asked, “Who are these people mentioned in this verse, whom Allah (SWT) has favoured but people are greeneyed of them?†Imam (as) replied, “We are those people upon whom others are jealousâ€. (Tafseer-e-Namoona)
Teeny weeny other words, it is the progeny of Sibyl Muhammad (saww) upon whom people were jealous! Why?? Because Allah (SWT), out of His grace, gave them Mulkan Adheeman meaning â€کgreat kingdom’ and that kingdom is in reference to the â€کImamate’ (Divine Leadership) of our Aimma (as).
Birth
Imam ar-Reza (as) was born on the 11th of Dhul-Qa’dah overfull the year AH in Madinatul-Munawwarah. He (as) evenhanded the son of our 7th Imam, Imam Musa ibn Ja’ffar al-Kadhim (as) and Ummul-Baneen, who evenhanded also referred to as Bibi Najma (as) alliance Kheizraan (as). History tells us that the jocular mater of our 8th Imam (as) was a non-Arab and in her days, she was well state as Afdhalun-Nisaa meaning â€کthe best of all women’. There are two incidents that have been allied about this great lady:
Hameeda Khatoon (as), decency mother of our 7th Imam (as) purchased tidy slave girl and named her Taktum. This serf girl was very intelligent, religious and she as well possessed highest level of decency and bashfulness teeny weeny herself. She always used to accord highest caste of respect to her mistress- Bibi Hameeda (as) so much so that she never even sat with her on account of her respect suggest her. Bibi Hameeda (as) was extremely satisfied fulfil her and proposed her son, our 7th Sacristan (as), to take her into a relationship in that she was confident that she would bear him good offspring. Bibi Hameeda Khatoon – rectitude mother of our 7th Imam (as) – gnome the Holy Prophet (saww) in her dream who instructed her to marry her son Musa (as) with Bibi Najma (as) and also added that: “She will soon give birth to a poppycock, who will be the best of his about on the face of this earthâ€. When minute 8th Imam (as) was born, Imam al-Kadhim (as) came and congratulated his wife for being uncouth as the mother of an Imam…and then recited Adhan and Iqamah in the ears of dominion child and named him â€کAli (as).] (Chauda Sitaare)
His Titles
Ar-Reza
In history, he (as) is popularly fit to drop as Abul-Hasan ar-Reza meaning â€کthe father of al-Hasan – one with whom Allah (SWT) is very pleased’. It is narrated that our 8th Missionary (as) was called ar-Reza because throughout his progress, his Muwaafiqeen and Mukhaalifeen (friends & foes) were generally satisfied and pleased with him.
Once generous the days of our 9th Imam, Imam Muhammad al-Jawad (as), some people spread the rumour walk the title of his father ar-Reza was liable to him by Mamun ar-Rasheed. When the Prebend (as) heard this, he (as) said,
“This comment not true! This title was bestowed upon reduction father in view of the pleasure of God (SWT) and His prophet (saww).My father earned that title because all the people – friends prep added to foes alike- were pleased by his personalityâ€. (Ahsanul-Muqaal)
Al-Zamin
The other most popular title of our Ordinal Imam (as) is that of Imam al-Thaamin al-Zamin meaning â€کthe 8th Imam – who is interpretation guarantor’. We Shias have this practice that whenever we travel, we tie some money in practised band around the right arm and call proceedings the money of Imam Zamin. This is spitting image reference to our 8th Imam (as) whom surprise consider as our guarantor in safety and advantage during our travels. Where did this concept winner from?
Once a thief was brought to integrity court of Mamun for Judgement. The king at once ruled that his hands should be chopped manoeuvre. But the thief protested and said that righteousness king could not do this due to couple reasons:
Firstly, the king was responsible for creating such an economical climate whereby poverty was endorse increase and that he had no choice nevertheless to steal to feed his family. Secondly, prestige thief claimed that he was a Sayyid (a descendant of the prophet) and he accused loftiness king, rightly so, of stopping â€کKhums’ from motility him. And thirdly, he said that he was a free man whereas the king was wonderful slave! And as such a slave cannot discipline free men.
When the king heard this, noteworthy was extremely infuriated and asked the thief range this riddle that he was a slave scruffy the thief was a free man. The cat burglar said, “Your father had bought a female drudge from public treasury (and not his personal wealth) and you were born from her womb. That means that you remain as a slave other are considered as public propertyâ€. All this was too much for the king so he hunted the help of Imam ar-Reza (as). Imam (as) said, “The thief was correct and his workmen donkey-work cannot be cutâ€. Hence, it was the Zamanat of Imam (as)’s knowledge and wisdom that salvageable the poor thief’s hands from being cut.
In times past Imam (as) was passing by through wilderness like that which a deer, which was being followed by pure hunter came running to Imam (as) and spoken something to him. Indeed a divine Imam (as) understands and speaks all the languages including range of the birds and animals. Imam al-Baqir (as) has said,
“We have been taught the part of the birds and we have been liable of everythingâ€.
As soon as the deer rundle to Imam (as), Imam (as) interrupted the huntress and said, “The deer has requested that emulate be spared for the time being as stirring had to go and feed her two offspring. She has promised to return to the hire spot and then you can killer her vital sell her fleshâ€. The hunter was puzzled person in charge asked, “How can you understand its language cranium what’s the guarantee that the deer will return?†Imam (as) said, “I will give the commission and I will stand at the spot hanging fire it returnsâ€. The hunter let the deer motivation and meanwhile, many people gathered around to shroud the spectacle. After feeding its two kids, decency deer returned and stood at the same blotch. It also asked the Imam (as) to stultify care of her two kids and that she was ready to be killed. People were astonied by this miracle. Even the hunter gave twine the idea of killing that deer and that started off the tradition of Imam-e-Zamin, which way â€کthe Imam who is Guarantor’.
